Qasem Soleimani from childhood to the Islamic revolution

The third child of Mashhad, Hassan Soleimani, was born in 1959. They named him Qasem. His ID card was two years older than his real age. according to the ID card he was born on April 1, 1957, in the village of “Qanat Malek” in the city of Rabar, Kerman. His ancestors had traveled a long way to reach Rabar in Kerman. His parents were from the Soleimani tribe, and their ancestors were from the Khamseh tribe of Persia, who were rushed to help Nader Shah Afshar in his campaign to Afghanistan and India, and on the way back from the war, they settled in the area where the Soleimani tribe now lives and moved between the tropical and cold regions of the south and west of Kerman province.
The father of Qasem Soleimani was a farmer. He always paid the Khums and Zakat, and every year the rich and the poor used to benefit from the walnuts in his garden, and no one was left empty-handed. In 1965, the school teacher said that if the father of each of the students gives only 200 bricks, the school building would be completed. Mashhadi Hassan, the father of Qasem Soleimani, also gave bricks in place of the father of those students who were unable to give, so that the school could be built sooner.
Mashhadi Hassan never put a suspicious morsel on his table. Soleimani said after the death of his father: “I can be proud that not a single forbidden wheat was included in my father’s life, I testify with conviction and this has affected my whole life.”
He was two years younger than his elder brother and went to school together, their food plate was one. One day he told his mother that he no longer wanted to eat with Hussein in the same dish. His mother thought they had a difference in the quantity of food, so she put the food in separate boxes for them to take to school. There were students from the surrounding villages who came to the Qanat-e Malek, aqueduct to study, who may have eaten only one meal a day and their financial condition was not good. Qasem wanted the separate lunch box from his mother for them, not for himself! He did not want to use his brother’s meal, so he told his mother to separate our boxes.
Qasem studied until the sixth grade in the Qanat-e Malek, and after that, he walked 15 kilometers to Raber every day to study. His father’s financial situation was not bad, and in response to a question from his friends why your father did not buy you a bicycle, he smiled and said: “Work hard instead of looking at father’s property” I have to stand on my own feet and not rely on my father. Whenever he was in the village, he helped his father in farming.
Qasem was a gifted and intelligent student, even he understood the lessons better than some of the older ones, and often stood in the place of the teachers and solved the learning problems of his friends and taught them to his classmates.
Once, when he realized that his classmate did not have a pencil, he broke his pencil from the middle and gave him half of it. Another day, when he realized that his classmate did not have a notebook, he gave him his notebook. He tears his brother’s notebook in half and used them together.
In the early 72’s and during his adolescence, he and his cousin, commander Ahmad Soleimani, went from their village, “Qanat-e Malek”, to the city of “Rabar” and then to Kerman and worked as laborers. The story was that Qasem’s father owed a debt of 900 Tomans and his uncle (Ahmad’s father) owed a debt of 500 Tomans to the government for an agricultural loan, and neither of them was able to pay their debt. So, the two teenage boys decided to go to Kerman to work and earn money to pay off their fathers’ debts. Later, Qasem’s brothers joined them and by hard work succeeded in earning the necessary money and paying off their father’s debt.
After laboring and working in the construction sector, he worked in Kasra Hotel in Kerman. At the same time that he was a hotel employee, on the day of Ashura, he saw a police officer harassing a woman and he was very upset. He identified the policeman and returned to the hotel, and planned with his cousin and taught him a lesson the same night.
He gave great importance to exercise and health, and went to karate and bodybuilding sports classes. He also loved football as well as wrestling. Used to say that in wrestling there is a special spiritual atmosphere that takes the man to the atmosphere of the world of masculinity and zeal.
After Kasra Hotel, he worked in Kerman Water Organization. General Soleimani was bound to enter the Grand Mosque from the east door, which was on the same street, every morning, kiss the door of the mosque, and exit from the west door, and then go to work. He used to say: “This is the blessing of my day and my work,”
With the culmination of the activities and movements of the revolution in Kerman, he joined the mobilization forces who sought to establish an Islamic and revolutionary government in the face of the oppression of the Pahlavi government. Soleimani’s activities were mostly in the form of attending anti-government demonstrations. He also took an active part in activities centered on the Kerman Grand Mosque to fight the Pahlavi regime. Soleimani was one of the main organizers of the marches and strikes in Kerman.
