Pivotal role of the martyr Qassem Soleimani in the 33-day war and Syria
Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy of Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, said that the aggression of July 2006 was a real war by Tel Aviv on Lebanon to destroy Islamic resistance. The Secretary-General of Hezbollah was a leader alongside Hajj Imad Mughniyeh and Hajj Qassem Soleimani. In the July War, Martyr Soleimani was among those who went directly to the Central Operations Room to provide advice on some military plans to confront the enemy and respond to urgent needs to thwart the enemy’s plan and achieve victory.
In response to a question about the role of Hajj Qassem Soleimani within The Axis of Resistance in Syria, Sheikh Naim Qassem said: “The Quds Force means equipping an army of 20 million to liberate Jerusalem (al-Quds). This army consists of teams spread throughout the region, whether in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Syria. It was natural for Hajj Qassem to personally pursue this issue directly, to save Syria from the war, to confront ISIS and the takfiri movements, to support the forces whether they were Iraqi, Afghani, Pakistani, Iranian or any other group that came to help Syria, and finally to support Hezbollah in Syria.”
Sheikh Naim Qassem added, “Martyr Soleimani was the true leader of all non-Syrian forces in this country. The victory was achieved, with the grace of God, by destroying ISIS in the region.”
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah said: “The first thing I remember from Hajj Qassem Soleimani, this great martyr and leader, is humility and communication with the 12 Imams (peace be upon them) and a kind of loyalty to the leadership of Imam Khamenei . One of the important points in the personality of the martyr Soleimani is that he was a political military leader. In addition to the military strategic vision, he had a strategic political vision. The martyr Soleimani proved that he was an extraordinary person. Millions of people flooded Iran’s streets for the mourning ceremony of Soleimani’s martyrdom. This indicates the great impact of his personality and his actions (to the nation).”
